Our Community Blood Supply Is Dangerously Low!
Let’s Fill The Fridge
The summer months are historically challenging for community blood centers, as high school/college breaks, family vacations and increased travel, combined with accidents and seasonal illnesses, often prevent people from donating blood. As a community, it is our responsibility to make sure we have enough blood to send to our local hospitals.
– We need 450 units of blood every day to supply our hospitals.
– Just one trauma victim needs about 100 units of type specific blood.
– Blood is perishable, and there is no substitute. Red blood cells have a lifespan of 42 days, while platelets can only be used for 5 days.
The blood we need is here in our community and once donated, stays in our community. The missing piece is YOU and that’s why we need your help ASAP!
All registered donors will receive a “Swag Bag” (while supplies last)! Bags include a voucher for a free cool summer treat from the Creamery at Plum Creek Farm Market, sunglasses and additional goodies. They will also be automatically entered to win one of several drawings for gift items and a $50 VISA gift card.
